Henry Ford Health: Destination Grand Groundbreaking Celebration
Henry Ford Health marked the groundbreaking of its new 20-story Destination:Grand patient tower with a thoughtfully sequenced launch that balanced ceremony, storytelling, and community celebration. The day began with a press conference and shovel ceremony recognizing the future of this exciting milestone in healthcare. Following the formal program, the site opened into an energetic, festival-style gathering for team members and community guests. Live music from DJ Don Mecca set the tone, with movement and dancing led by the Detroit Pistons Dancers and punctuated by performances from the Pistons Drumline and the Mosaic Youth Choir. Guests explored interactive experiences including Shirley Ryan AbilityLab demonstrations, wellness and health fair booths, a silent disco yoga activation, youth basketball clinics, and hands-on community art projects. Food trucks, family-friendly activities, and team member hubs rounded out the experience, creating a celebration that felt inclusive, forward-looking, and rooted in community impact.

Seen/Scene Opening Celebration
Rock Events was proud to help produce the opening of Seen/Scene, the first public exhibition from the Jennifer Gilbert Collection at The Shepherd. Featuring 36 works by contemporary artists curated by Laura Mott and Nick Cave, the event reflected the exhibition’s focus on portraiture and paid homage to Cave’s influential Detroit project, Here Hear.
The opening event was a full-day experience that took place throughout the Shepherd’s campus, encouraging interaction, learning, and creative expression. Programming included a morning dialogue with Nick Cave, Bob Faust, and Laura Mott, followed by a film screening, hands-on art activities, and a skate workshop. Cultural touchpoints and community partnerships rounded out the day, with pop-ups from Cranbrook Art Museum, Pewabic, and Progressive Art Studio Collective, alongside a curated lineup of Detroit-based food vendors.
The Seen/Scene opening was crafted as a welcoming gathering celebrating artists, storytelling, and the power of visibility — an event that embraced Detroit’s creative energy and brought this milestone moment for the Jennifer Gilbert Collection to life.
